London is one of the most diverse cities in the world, and luckily for me, only a 2 and-a-half hour train ride away. A friend and I decided to go to down to London to go shopping, and as a treat after our A-Level exams.
I hadn’t been to London for years so I was quite excited. Unknowingly, we had picked the hottest day of the year to go, it was around 30 degrees the entire day. We got to London at about 11 and planned to spend the whole day shopping, but it was so hot, we literally couldn’t do anything. We headed to Oxford Street on the tube, and I was confused at first. I’ll never understand why there are so many things I have to do before I can get through the barriers! Also, why are Londoners always in such a rush? I nearly got killed by like 3 people on the escalators! Needless to say, my friend took control of my tube pass and my hand from then on.
Once we got to Oxford Street, we went to Lush, one of my favourite shops. It’s the biggest Lush in the UK and definitely lived up to its expectations. The shop was so vibrant and smelt amazing, but it was so busy we could hardly move. We went to the second floor to get some massage bars, but due to the heat, they had melted! Our shopping trip there wasn’t every successful.
We went to Primark next, and although it was massive, neither of us found anything nice. We spent about an hour going through everything and it was beginning to feel like a bit of a pointless trip.
We left disappointed, and headed over to Leicester Square after lunch. What I saw when we got there completely made up for everything, M&M’s World! I didn’t even know it existed. M&M’s are definitely one of my favourite chocolates, so this made up for the whole trip. The layout of the shop was so fun and colourful and it smelt of chocolate everywhere. The only problem was how busy it was, but that’s to be expected in Leicester Square. I definitely recommend you heading over there if you get a chance whilst in London.
